Raed Bashitialshaaer

About

Dr. Bashitialshaaer, obtained his PhD in March 2011 from the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Lund University and Master of wastewater management and bachelor's degree in civil engineering both from Cyprus. Also, received Mechanical and Chemical Engineering Diploma from Bangladesh and Electrician Diploma from Palestine. Over the past fifteen years worked in environmental research and solutions brine discharge from desalination and published more than 40 articles (journal papers), book chapters plus many conferences. Moreover, to the global experience, concentrated environmental impacts to the Middle East region e.g. Persian / Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea-Dead Sea Canal Project. Got an International Desalination Association Award 2015, and member of International Desalination Association (IDA), Arab Healthy Water Association (AHWA), Healthy Water Association of US (HWA), European Desalination Society (EDS) and American Water Works Association (AWWA). In year 2016, interviewed by Swedish radio-show Hopp (Hope), The Guardian magazine (UK) and Scientific American magazine (USA) etc. Research interests Would like to add more solutions to the aquaculture and fisheries such as field work, experimental lab-scale and mathematical modelling related to: 1) Fresh water supply, 2) water treatment and energy innovations, 3) Wastewater management and reuse, (4) Sustainable and safe use of non-conventional waters, 5) Environmental impact and assessment and 6) Collaboration between the academia and industrial levels.
